The Certificate in Wedding Styling is one of our newer courses and is one of the few styling focussed qualifications out there.
The role of a wedding stylist is a fairly new one within the industry but it is fast become popular with clients who want to plan their own wedding but need help with making it look amazing. As a wedding stylist you will work with a couple to bring the design elements of their day together. This can include assisting them with design ideas, sourcing decor and styling elements, setting up and styling of the day, as well as post event break down. Most wedding stylists run their own business rather than find employment and with this course you will learn the ins and outs of launching a business.
All our courses are online which gives you the flexibility to learn anywhere and at times that suits you. So you really can fit your course around your lifestyle. Many of our students study whilst having a full time job and/or looking after a family. You have up to a year to complete your course although it can be completed in as little as 12 weeks if you have more hours per week to dedicate to study.
Our practical courses contain ‘how to’ video demos and tablescape design examples so you can follow along and practice your styling skills at home. You’d be surprised what you can find around your house that can be styled together to create a great table design. Our assignments also require you to put what you learn into practice, creating mood-boards, storyboards, color palettes, layout plans, client proposals and more.
A wedding stylist will not be involved in the pre planning of a wedding in the same way a wedding planner would. A wedding stylist only needs to concern themselves with the visual side of the wedding and the prep and logistics associated with that part of it. Whereas a planner can be involved in everything from budgets to guest lists.
This course definitely appeals to creative types as it is a great way to turn those skills and passion into a viable career. However, not everyone who becomes a wedding stylist comes from a creative background. If wedding styling is something you are interested in but you don’t see yourself as a natural creative, don’t let that stop you. In this course you will be taught the art of styling, working with color and decor elements, working with flowers, understanding lighting and more, these creative skills can be learnt and developed with practice.
