Student of the Month Iva

Each student who starts a course with the Wedding & Event Institute, is asked to introduce themselves to their Instructor as part of their first Project.  This is a really nice way for Instructor to get to know Student and understand what the student’s goals are for doing the course.

Everyone’s story is special but this week I received a submission from a new student, which I thought you would enjoy reading an excerpt from.  Iva is studying our Certified Wedding & Event Planning, Design and Business course and this is part of what she sent me as an introduction.

I was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia. When I finished elementary school I moved to Toronto, Canada, where I finished High school and University. I studied Environmental Design/Architecture at OCAD University, where I am still enrolled, I have a thesis project left to finish.

However, when I was growing up my mother was a wedding planner and Iwas always going with her to see the venues and to pick decorations. It was very excitingevery time when all the planning and design is done to see those venues become so surreal.

Thank you so much for sharing your story with us Iva and also for submitting this lovely inspiration board. It is a great introduction to you, your style and what matters to you also.

Have you ever noticed that often what you are passionate about as an adult, is what delighted you as a child?  I know this is the case for me and it is what led me towards what I am doing now and away from the Finance career I embarked upon when I left school.  It would seem that this is the case for Iva too; her experience of watching her mother as a child has stayed with her and guided her towards enrolling with us, so she too can embark on a career working in weddings and events.  If this is the case for you, why not contact our experienced Course Specialist Nicole. She will be able to help you to choose the right course so you can make your dreams come true too!
